Food for Love Competition: Terms and Conditions

This page sets out the Terms and Conditions applicable to the Match.com Food for Love Competiton. This is a legal document which is the agreement between you (whom we refer to as “you”, “your” or “entrant”) and us. We are Match.com International Limited and we are the promoter of the Food for Love Competition. We are a company registered in England with our registered office at C/O Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (Uk) Llp 40 Bank Street, Canary Wharf, London, United Kingdom, E14 5DS (and we refer to ourselves as “Match.com” “we”, “us” or “our” in this document).

1. Entry to the Competition

1.1 To enter the Match.com Food for Love Competition, you must email Match at matchevents@eu.match.com with the following information:

Use the subject line “Food for Love competition”

(i) What would you cook to impress your date? (maximum length 5 sentences)

(ii) Personal details (first name, surname, age, gender)

(iii) Contact details (email address, phone number)

(iv) If you’re available to go to the event on Saturday 22nd June

1.2 By participating in this Competition, you agree, if you win:

(i) to allow us film and/or photograph you during the event without any consideration becoming due to you; and

(ii) to execute appropriate consents/licenses granting us (or agents appointed by us) the right to film/photograph you

1.3 The Competition will be open to entrants from 17th May 2019 and will close at 11:59pm on 18th June 2019

1.4. The Competition is free to enter.

1.5 Any entries received after closing of the Competition will be ineligible for consideration.

2. Eligibility

2.1. Only one entry per person is allowed. No third party or bulk entries will be permitted.

2.2. Entrants must be aged 18 years or older and must be singles (not in relationships)

2.3. The Competition is not open to employees of the promoter or employees of associated agencies of the promoter.

2.4. Match.com accepts no responsibility for entries that fail to be received or delivered. Proof of submission is not proof of entry.

2.5. Match.com reserves the right to verify the eligibility of entrants and may deny anybody entry at its sole discretion. Match.com does not accept liability for any ineligible entries.

2.6. Match.com may request any relevant information it views as reasonably necessary to verify eligibility. Failure to provide such information upon request will result in Match.com denying eligibility for the Competition.

3. The Prize

3.1. There will be 60 winners of the Food for Love Competition, who will each win a ticket to enter a singles event at Taste of London on Saturday the 22nd June 2019

3.2. The prize is non-transferrable.

3.3. The prize is as stated and you are not entitled to obtain another product or cash alternative from us.

3.4. If the event for any reason has to be cancelled, the prize will no longer be available or compensated for.

4. Selecting the Winners

4.1. From the total number of eligible entries who have emailed Match.com the winners will be chosen by a jury consisting of two persons employed on Match.com (Marketing Director, Events Manager). Their decision is final and can not be appealed. The jury will select winners based on the participants’ responses. The criteria are creativity and originality.

4.2. Match.com will notify the winners through an email as a reply to the email sent to Match.com by the contestant at the latest 2 days after the end of the Competition.

5. Claiming your Prize

5.1. In order to claim the prize, the winner is required to confirmed his/ her acceptance of the prize by responding to Match.com’s email. If Match.com does not receive a response from the winner of the prize within 48 hours of being notified, Match.com reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to deem the prize as unaccepted and to offer the prize to an alternative entrant. 5.2. If a prize is not accepted by the winner in accordance with the terms above, Match.com may, within one day, select an alternative winner via the same process used to select the initial winner. Such subsequent winner will be notified as per clause 4.2, save that such notification will be later than a day after the date of the applicable Competition.

6. Privacy

6.1. Personal data provided to Match.com for the purpose of entering this Competition will be processed in accordance with the Match Group privacy policy available at www.uk.match.com or as otherwise set out in these terms and conditions. We will only use personal data submitted the purposes of selecting, contacting and announcing winners.

6.2. By entering this Competition, you acknowledge that the Events at Taste of London will be filmed and photographed.

7. Other Restrictions

7.1. Match.com shall be entitled to withdraw or modify the Competition or these terms and conditions in exceptional circumstances by publishing any such modification or withdrawal on any Match.com website on reasonable notice.

7.2. Failure to comply with any aspect of these terms and conditions will result in the invalidation of your entry. In the event of a dispute, the decision of Match.com shall be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.

7.3. Match.com reserves the right to promote this Competition on Match.com, Facebook.com, Twitter.com and Instagram, subject to the terms and conditions governing the use of the aforementioned websites.

7.4. Match.com shall be under no obligation to run the Competition or award prizes in the event it is unable to do so due to circumstances or causes beyond its reasonable control. You agree that by entering this competition no obligation on the part of Match.com shall be attached for such events described in the preceding sentence.

7.5. Match.com accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, injury or disappointment suffered by any entrant resulting from entering this Competition or by the entrant’s acceptance of the prize provided that Match.com does not exclude or limit liability for any liability that cannot be excluded by law and nothing shall exclude Match.com liability for fraud or death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.

7.7. This Competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and all disputes arising from it shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
