Date Idea: Traditional Tapas in Brixton

The weekend has come around again, and our recent LoveGeist survey tells us that this also means date night is upon us!

Saturday night is Britain’s favourite day to date, with weekend dates being nearly four times more popular than week nights.

But if you’re tired of whittling your weekend away queuing for a burger joint or an overcrowded bar in the city, then we have the perfect date for you.

What’s the venue?

Seven at Brixton. This tapas and cocktail bar used to be a luggage shop on Market Row and has kept its roots in the design by using old suitcases for shelves, a beautiful bookcase as a bar and some mismatched furniture which all work together to give the bar a quirky yet endearing edge.

What can you eat/drink?

Their selection of tapas dishes are delicious and ideal for sharing which can give your dinner date a more casual and laid back feel. The food is made from fresh Spanish ingredients and feature all our favourite dishes such as patatas bravas, Spanish tortilla and king prawns with chorizo.

They have a great experimental, seasonal cocktail menu with lots of innovative and exotic flavours. Try the honey and chilli margherita to add a little spice to your date, or enjoy a classic with a twist with their basil mojito.

If you don’t want to go on an evening date, try their brunch menu which is a selection of classic dishes infused with a Spanish touch. Our top pick – the full Spanish with chorizo, mocilla de Burgos served with pimento beans.

Where is it?

Unit 7, Market Row, Brixton, SW98LB. Its 5 minutes’ walk from Brixton tube and nestled in the hustle and bustle of Brixton Village.

How much?

Cocktails are a bargain at £5 each. Food is also reasonable priced, with each dish costing around the £5 mark.
