Date on a weeknight
A word to the wise: restaurants and bars tend to have 2-4-1 and other such offers on weekdays, as opposed to weekends, so if you’re dating and on a budget, consider meeting up for a drink or meal one night after work. If you’re not keen on printing out a voucher, there’s lots of websites and even apps which let you simply present the code on your phone when it’s time to pay.
Go for a hike
If you’re lucky enough to live near some scenic spots, then take your dating outdoors on a romantic ramble. Away from the distractions of the world, a hike with your date provides the perfect opportunity to show your true self. The likes of Starbucks and Costa tend to charge a few bob for their fancy frappuccinos and what not, but venture a little off the main streets and you’ll discover family-owned coffee bars. These often warm and friendly joints serve equally delicious drinks, but for a fraction of the price! So you might even have a few pounds left over for a slither of cake!
