Free dating: How to impress a foodie for free

So you’ve met someone online and found out they appreciate the art of cooking and good food. Well, if you want to know how to impress them, pencil in the top foodie spots below. At some point during the month we all need a few free dating ideas in our lives. So we’re helping you out with these free venues – meaning more money to spend on the delicious grub! You’ll be known as the suave food connoisseur, and be guaranteed to sweep your date off their feet.

Urban Food Fest – Shoreditch

This food event is too big not to mention. The Shoreditch Urban Food Fest runs every year, giving us foodies something to look forward to. But this isn’t any street food festival, oh no… this is a gourmet street food festival. Who said ‘fancy’ has to cost though? Entry is free so all you need to pay for is your food, which is much cheaper than heading to a restaurant. Take your pick of Italian wood fired pizzas lobster brioche rolls and so much more. If you and your date can only make late evening dates, this event in London is perfect as it continues until midnight. Your best bet for an appetising evening bite and drink or two.

Market Porter Pop Up Bar – Battersea

If your date loves food, they’ve probably heard of ‘Meatporter’, the premium online meat seller. They’ll be glad to know Meatporter have now taken a step into the physical world by opening their first ever pop-up bar in Battersea. The interior is styled classically British with an Italian twist and features an in-house pianist. Vegetarians steer clear though, this is a great free date venue for a meat appreciator.

Feast on the Streets – Norwich

Set up by the street food traders of Norwich back in 2013, this free monthly event is packed with stalls from locals within the region. The food festival gives you the opportunity to sample a wide variety of foods that you wouldn’t normally try in restaurants like wild boar; which is a fun way to get to know your date and experience something new together. It’s been featured in the Metro for being one of the reasons to live in Norwich, so they must be doing something right…

Glasgow Farmers Market – Glasgow

If you’re up on the high hills, head to the Glasgow Farmer’s Market. Over 40 producers will be gathering to sell the best cheese, meats, veg, bread, cakes and more. Whilst you browse around with your date admiring the brie and steaks, you’ll even get the chance to enjoy traditional Scottish music. This event is free and occurs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.

Vegan Festival – Various locations

Got a date that loves food but is a selective eater i.e. a vegan? Then be considerate in your venue choice to ensure that they too are able to have a good time. The Vegan Festival travels around the UK throughout the year so be sure to check out when it’s coming to your hometown. If you’ve not tried many vegan meals before, it’s a great chance to explore a new world of food. Who knows, this free festival may even change your own dietary habits!
