New research into online daters from match has found that Cardiff daters are the most chivalrous in the country, with 61% agreeing that they would offer to pay for a first date, and a further 64% agreeing that they would be likely to open doors for a potential new partner during the date itself.

But what true love means to the daters of Cardiff is changing, with the city rating the highest in the country for people not wanting to get married in the future. According to the LoveGeist Report, 19% of respondents said that they simply didn’t want to get married in the future, despite 88% admitting to wanting a long term relationship. When asked what they had learnt from their previous relationships to take forward into the next, more people in Cardiff than anywhere else in the country claimed that they had learned to expect less from their partner (32%).
