We’ve always thought Scots were a sociable bunch, and now we have proof. Our 2011-2012 LoveGeist study found that 62% of single adult’s surveyed in Edinburgh and Glasgow view spending time with friends as one of their top three most important focuses in life.

Daters surveyed in Edinburgh and Glasgow also felt that chemistry was key to a relationship, with 96% saying this was one of the most important things about being in a relationship.
Only 14% of Edinburgh and Glasgow singles surveyed stated that their ideal date would involve doing something active while 75% would prefer a classic dinner or drinks date.
Of the 8 regions that were surveyed, daters in Edinburgh and Glasgow are the least likely to have met their partners on a dating site. Out of the singles in Edinburgh and Glasgow who had used online dating, only a third (29%) had found a relationship which lasted more than three months. In contrast, 55% of West Yorkshire singles who had used online dating previously had a relationship lasting more than three months are a result.
