Polish dating: Where to find Polish ingredients

Want to treat the Polish prince or princess you’re dating to a taste of home, but not sure where to find ingredients? Or perhaps you’re Polish and you’d like to treat your new date to some home cooked cuisine? Since Poland joined the EU in 2004, stores, bakeries and delis selling Polish delights have sprung up all over the UK – these days it’s just a matter of finding the good ones. Large supermarket chains have all been known to stock Polish ingredients but if you really want to impress it’s important to go native. We don’t mean jumping on the first plane to Warsaw, but venturing into some of the great Polish establishments on your high street. Try some of these for starters:

Polish dating in London

Polsmak 39 Balls Pond Road, London N1 4BW This newish Polish deli stocks everything from cosmetics (not recommended for cooking ingredients!) to spices, snacks and sauces. Pick up a bottle of cranberry or honey wodka and a poppy seed cheese cake for dessert to really treat your Polish date.

Treating your date to Polish dishes

A final word on Polish dating and culinary perfection; do your research! Before attempting dishes such as dumplings or hunter’s stew, make sure you know your recipe and if you don’t, be sure to ask the person at the deli counter – they’ll be able to tell you if you’re missing any vital ingredients. Above all leave yourself plenty of time in the kitchen; preparation is the key to making the perfect Polish cuisine.
