Imagine this. You’re meeting your date for the first time tonight for a few drinks, just to get to know each other a little better.
You clock (and like) their style as soon as they walk through the door and you can tell from their body language that they’re into you. But you can’t quite put your finger on what they’re like as a person; what are they into and what is their outlook on life? And then they order their drink at the bar and it all becomes a little clearer…
Read on to find out what your date’s drink says about them.
Local ale – The Hipster
If your date orders an unfamiliar sounding beer or ale – by which we mean one you’ve not seen advertised on every billboard from here to Timbuktu – then your date is a cultured soul who loves to share stories and learn new facts.
Your date loves discovering new places and unearthing different things – they’re quite the culture vulture indeed.
Red wine – The Connoisseur
Red wine says your date is mature, sophisticated and enjoys the finer things in life. Your date is intrigued by new people and loves nothing more than pondering on their thoughts and unwinding in the presence of good company – like yourself.
Rum and coke – The Adventurer
If your date asks for a rum and coke then they’re probably the experimental type. Similar to the local ale lover, they love nothing more than new experiences and life’s many tests don’t phase them, in fact they love a challenge.
Extra dry martini – The Don
Ah, did we mention with a dash of Absolut Citron Vodka and shaken not stirred?
If you’re date is super specific about what they’d like to drink then it’s pretty likely that they know what they want, they’re straight-talking and above all, they’re confident.
White Russian – The Joker
Your date has a great sense of humour and is the joker in their group of friends. They’re fun-loving with a great lust for life and enjoy nothing more than making others happy. That or they just really love The Big Lebowski…
Gin and Tonic – Mr Cool
If your date chooses a G&T to sip on during your date it says a few things about them as a person; they’re cool, calm and collected, not to mention savvy and mature. They’ve got a wealth of knowledge to share.
Lager – The Go-Getter
Your date is impulsive and enjoys making new memories on the spur of the moment. They’re not one to be left out for fear of missing out.
It’s important to take all of the above with a pinch of salt (and bit of lemon, if that’s how your night’s shaping up!) and consider lots of other things when dating. The fact of the matter is, your date might just really like the house red in that particular bar or the thought of spoiling such a delicious spirit with a mixer makes them squirm so make sure you think about how well you connect on a personal level and whether or not you’re attracted to them. Whatever you do, don’t decline a second date with someone who’s practically perfect for you but is partial to a peculiar sounding drink.
