We met on the site in May of 2017. I messaged him on Thursday, the 25th of May with a cheesy joke about not wanting to go camping because I do not want to destroy the living space of Smurfs (mushrooms) and had given up on receiving a reply by that Sunday night. However, to my surprise he did message me back on Monday the 29th and we met up in person for the first time on the 7th of June 2017 and had a 5 hour long date touring around Dublin city for drinks and food.
What aspect of their Match profile did you find most attractive or interesting?
Ian had this super long essay about all the things he liked to do, and it was written in a way that just made it sound like he was the most enthusiastic and wonderful human to roam the earth. It was quirky and oh so long, that I did not realise until I met him in person that that is exactly the way he talks. Just this never-ending stream of thoughts just bubbling out of him. It was perfect.
Do you have any plans together as a couple (holidays, moving in, commitment…)
We went on our first holiday in September 2017 to Inis Meain, and after those 4 days we were practically inseparable. We moved in together officially in September 2018, but realistically, we had not spent more than 1 night apart for months before that. He asked me to marry him in July 2019 and we got married during the pandemic (with 10 guests) in September 2020.
What are the cute little things you do for each other on a daily basis?
There are far too many to count. When Ian feels down, I do a little silly dance or an impression of a dinosaur that cheers him right up. He makes me a smoothie every day to accompany my lunch (get that fibre!) and is overall the most loving person. We make sure to give each other loads of hugs throughout the day to keep us going and to always just share our honest opinions, because that is the core of every good relationship.
