We went on our first Match.com date on 15th February 2008. We had been messaging for a while and were keen to meet up but didn’t want to have our first date on Valentine’s Day in case that felt like too much pressure!
What aspect of their Match profile did you find most attractive or interesting?
In his photos he looked like a cheeky chappy which I really liked. He also had pictures of himself climbing mountains and travelling so I knew he wasn’t going to be wanting to sit at home all the time watching telly.
Do you have any plans together as a couple (holidays, moving in, commitment…)
After meeting in 2007 we moved in together later that year and got married in 2010. We now have 2 beautiful children aged 8 and 3. So a little less of the climbing mountains and travelling these days but having a family together has been a whole other type of adventure 🙂
What are the cute little things you do for each other on a daily basis?
Day-to-day life with small children is busy and can distract us from doing things for each other so we try to put aside time for a special meal out or a weekend away. And I love how one of us always makes the other a cuppa after the kids are in bed without having to be asked – we just seem to instinctively know which one of us is most in need of it!
What is the most crazy thing you have done for each other?
Stu proposed to me on a pretty special occasion – I was a backing singer in a band and we had played a few dates opening for Snow Patrol on their UK tour. When it came to the final show in our home city, right before I was about to go on stage Stu got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. My band mates then announced it from the stage and the whole arena gave us a big cheer!
