When did you meet?: I met Kate in the July of 2014. We had been messaging back and forth for about a month, typical “getting to know you” stuff, likes and dislikes and such. During one of our chats she happened to mention she played the lottery. I said I didn’t play regularly, but said (with uncharacteristic smoothness) “…speaking of gambles, would you like to meet me for coffee?” She said yes and we set a date. We planned to meet in a local coffee shop on a Sunday. At the time, I was playing regularly in a band, and we had quite an important gig in London on the Saturday night. The gig ran late and I didn’t get home till 6 am Sunday morning. I set an alarm, got a few hours’ sleep and went to meet Kate. She was beautiful and charming, and sat and listened patiently as I downed multiple double-espressos and jabbered, wide eyed about my so-called life. Sleep deprivation and caffeine stripped me of all my tact and wit, as I rambled and gawped at the pretty girl sat in front of me. Fortunately for me, Kate has a soft spot for dumb animals. She didn’t run away, as I was expecting, but agreed to go on another, slightly less caffeinated date. The rest is history.
What aspect of their Match profile did you find most attractive or interesting?: I saw that Kate was a real, genuine person looking for a real relationship. We seemed to match in terms of our general likes and dislikes, and it certainly didn’t hurt that I thought she was cute as a button.
Do you have any plans together as a couple (holidays, moving in, commitment…): We moved in together a year or so after we met, and after four years together, we got married in April this year!
What are the cute little things you do for each other on a daily basis?: I insist on at least one kiss a day – more if I can(!)
