Built inside the enclave walls with a sheer drop of cliff face on one side, the castle dominates the skyline of Edinburgh and is an iconic part of its scenery.
This is the main hill in Edinburgh’s famous Holyrood Park, which is situated in the centre of the city and offers lovely walks and views of the surrounding city. Arthur’s Seat can be seen from almost anywhere in the city and is a popular Edinburgh dating destination because of how picturesque the views are from its summit.
One of the most fun daytime dating locations in Edinburgh, this collection of over 1,000 animals is set in beautiful parkland on the outskirts of the city – a great atmosphere for a romantic Edinburgh dating experience. The zoo gets almost as many visitors as Edinburgh Castle, which is no surprise as it’s packed with rare and endangered species. It even has its own ‘penguin-cam’ for wildlife enthusiasts to enjoy.
Royal Botanic Garden
One of the world’s largest collections of living plants, the Royal Botanic Garden is made up of four different gardens and was first established in 1670. The Chinese Hillside offers a particularly unusual spot for contemplation with a pavilion ideal for sneaking that first date kiss. Edinburgh dating has never looked so exotic.
Camera Obscura & The World of Illusions
With five floors of exhibitions, and a Victorian rooftop where you can view moving images of Edinburgh city from a giant periscope, this is one way to keep Edinburgh dating exciting. What’s more, they’ve recently added an ‘AutoWed’ machine (as featured on Dragons’ Den & only the second one in the world!) which allows you to ‘marry’ your partner for just £1 in an automated ceremony! Perhaps not ideal for a a first date, however it’s not legally binding!
