Manchester’s many bars & restaurants make it a fantastic city to date in, but if you’re looking for a date with more of a countryside feel, then head to the suburbs and seek out what Chorlton has to offer. Here’s our top picks…
The Marble Beer House
57 Manchester Road, M21 9PW
This cosy pub offers an unobtrusive, friendly atmosphere to unwind and relax with your date, away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
The drinks on offer are a mixture of the Marble’s own brewery creations and guest ales. Particular highlights include the Ginger Ale and the Chocolate Marble, but whatever your taste you’re sure to find something to suit. If you fancy something a little stronger a selection of single malt whiskeys are available.
If you’re feeling peckish there’s a selection of bar snacks on offer, along with a pop up food service that visits through the months, giving you a variety of options to satisfy your appetite.
A great place to go on a date, enjoy each other’s company and try some fantastic beers.
99 Manchester Road, M21 9GA
Offering a large range of beers and as the name suggests, a variety of handmade tasty pies and sides, Pi is a fantastic place to grab a hearty lunch with your date.
Upon visiting you’ll be greeted by an atmosphere that’s friendly and laid back, perfect for settling any date nerves that you might have. The bar offers a large selection of beer that steers clear of the mainstream, instead providing a selection of local and imported styles.
Not to be upstaged by their liquid compatriot, the pies on offer are packed full of flavour, and make a great lunch when paired with something from the range of sides available including mushy mint peas and mash. The selection of pies on offer changes time to time giving lots of options, and they’re always made with the freshest, organic ingredients.
456-458 Barlow Moor Road, M21 0BQ
Looking for something a little different? How about a pub serving craft beer and Mexican cuisine? The Beagle offers just that, and pulls it off perfectly.
There’s a wide selection of beers, cocktails, wines, spirits and soft drinks, so you and your date will be sure to find something you like.
The reasonably priced Mexican menu serves all the classics, from tacos and burritos to chimichangas and chicken wings, but if you don’t fancy Mexican there’s also a selection of American style burgers on offer.
Vegetarians are well catered for, with all the Mexican dishes having a vegetarian option, and the dessert menu is refreshingly different (hello fruit & mallow fondue with salted caramel dipping sauce!). All in all The Beagle comes highly recommended for an evening date with a little bit of spice.
