Hula Tiki Lounge
Stevenson Square, Northern Quarter, M1 1DB
Golden beaches and sunshine might not be what comes to mind when thinking of a date in Manchester, but visiting the Hula Tiki Lounge (pictured above) provides the perfect opportunity to escape to the tropics.
Staying authentic to the theme, the bar is decked out in beach hut inspired décor with fish tanks, a stone bar and an array of Tiki artefacts adorning the walls. All of which helps give the bar a fun and laid back atmosphere.
Hulu Tiki Lounge also does a great job of transporting you to distant shores, with a selection of over 100 different rums from across the world, along with a selection of tasty cocktails, leaving you and a date spoilt for choice.
All in all, this hula hang out basement bar is a great date venue if you fancy trying something a little offbeat.
Black Dog Ballroom
Corner of Tib Street/Church Street, Northern Quarter, M4 1PW
Drawing inspiration from speakeasy bars found in the Big Apple; the Black Dog Ballroom offers a laid back and stylish surrounding for a date in the Northern Quarter.
There’s a variety of food on offer both through the day and into the evening. The menu includes a range of pizzas and platters; perfect for sharing with a date if you want something lighter.
The bar offers a large selection of drinks including a tasty ensemble of cocktails, a comprehensive wine list and a range of draught and bottled beers.
For something a little different, Black Dog Ballroom also offer a cocktail master class where you’ll have the opportunity to mix (and drink) cocktails in their private members’ lounge; a lot of fun for anyone who enjoys cocktails and a good way to kick off a date!
Thomas St, Northern Quarter, M4 1EU
Suitable day or night, the Trof bar in the Northern Quarter oozes with subtle hipness. The décor is rustic with a warm feel and an atmosphere that makes it perfect for a date.
By day you’ll find a tasty of selection of lunches on offer including, burgers, hot dogs, grills and sandwiches, serving both meat eaters and veggies. If you don’t fancy eating, they also have a range of drinks including coffee, tea and soft drinks.
Deciding to visit Trof in the evening, you’ll find a drinks menu packed full of interesting beers, tasty cocktails and a huge selection of wines and bourbons. No matter what night you choose to visit, there’s a packed calendar of gigs, open mic nights and quizzes, offering a great way to spend an evening with your date.
